RYLA Interact Club Camp 08

This year, Sean Matjeraie got me to join RYLA Interact Club's Camp. It was four days long, and it started last Friday at 3:00pm. Im very sorry for not having any photos but hope to get it from my friends once they upload it.

Day one was fun. But before all that, I met Aaron and Stephen in the morning at Aaron's house. We had breakfast, played a lil guitar and then in the afternoon we took a cab to Telang Usan Hotel to meet the fellow Ryla Participants. We played more guitar when we was there and I guess the three of us felt kinda weird because the participants kept looking at us. We took the bus and arrived at the Sarawak Cultural Village at around 5pm. We checked in and freshed up, and mixed around with new friends before dinner. When dinner arrived it was satisfactory......but not for Aaron, :) lol. At 8pm, we had a speech from our host Patrick Panai. Then we mixed around and formed our teams. After our general briefing we were suppose to go sleep. But a number of us stayed up and made new friends. We hanged out with Nicole till early morning, and we slept for only an hour.

The following day, Saturday, we were so sleep deprived but Sean and I jumped into the pond up the hills when the group went jungle trekking. It was sooooooo cold, we went from dead zombies to totally awake. Aaron and Stephen slept till about 12pm and missed all the fun, lol. We had breakfast and went to the hall for our several activities. After the opening ceremony we had our break and a continuing speech from our host. And then we learned cultural dances and folk songs from the people who lived there after lunch. The rest of the day we had to ourselfs and had dinner later on in the day. And we had to watch a movie.

On Sunday, we were late for everything. As alot of us were late sleepers, the next morning, everyone was a lil bit slow moving. Aaron was popular with all the girls btw. Stephen and I was popular with the girls from Brunei, Kuching High and St. Mary lol. Sean made all of us laugh like fucktards! Sunday was the usual routine but with different activities. When evening came we had to rehearse for our team performance at night. For Kastrya, we were going to perform as well so we had to prepare more as we need to do our Team performance. At about 6 or 7pm, Kastrya went up and we played Emily and our band song which is yet to be named. And before the last performance we played 'When the Levee Breaks' by Led Zeppelin and a solo from Alesana. At late night almost no one slept because everybody was using their time to mix around and have fun before we have to leave each other on monday.

When monday came, we went through our usual routine and we prank called lots of people hahahaha. We mixed around as much as possible and there were all the hugs and we exchanged our contacts and everything as well. We got on our bus to the hotel, and everybody bid farewell.

So yeah, thats why I didn't updated my blog for such a long time. And here you go. I promise to upload all the photos once I get it.

Ciao

Plans For Tommorrow

I have plans to take up drawing and painting professionally. And I have planned to do professional photography as well.

I guess I just can't express myself by music alone. But I admit i express myself through music mostly, maybe 90%. But theres this part of me that wants to express itself through colors and pictures. Lighting and atmosphere.

One things for sure, I have planned to study music, and I also have planned to get a degree in painting, drawing and art photography in the university im heading to. Lasalle College Of The Arts. One of the worlds most reknown universities in the arts, its one of the best choices if you are located in Asia.
To give you a quick glance of this place, I got a few pictures.

This is a view from the inside of the campus, and as you can see it's design is amazing and unconventional, designed to look like a paths into caves and canyons.

This is a section of the greenery around the Campus.

This is the main theatre at the Campus.

The library of the University.

One of the many studios designed for popular music at Lasalle.

Now everyone, brace yourselfs as you see the these few breathtaking photos from the outside of the University!

Yeap, Im glad I chose this University over the one in KL.The one in KL isn't that bad, but I guess this ones better.Much more culture, and more things happening in Singapore.
Not to mention the music scene there is much more active.Hope some of you people go there with me! :D. Evonne perhaps? Kendrick? Erica MUNJAN!!!?? :p. Hey Caleb???? Come lah, you like drawing right? they have a course on that. Hahahahaha.

And mostly, I hope my band members follow me to Singapore!

Kastrya and holidays

Holidays, end of Form 4. Some travel, go out, have a good time......

What am I up to? Ups and downs I would say. I have to study for the holidays. But at least I could go out with friends and stuff. Owh, and Kastrya(my band) is going to record our EP this December.

If any of you guys still don't know, the band Im in is called Kastrya, it actually derives from an Indonesian word 'Ksatrya' which actually means warrior. We changed the spelling because we thought it would be easier to pronounce, looks nicer and sounds better. And our bands current line-up? Our band consists of Ronnie Cain(Aaron Tan), Abel(Adit), Stephen Bong, and I(Ludovycus 318). Ronnie plays guitar and sings main vocals, I play guitar and sing backup vocals, Abel plays drums and sings backup vocals, and last but definitely not least Stephen Bong, who plays bass guitar and sings backup vocals as well. We hope to record our EP by the end of December and hopefully market it.

Well thats the brief coverage of what my holidays are about, and Im joining the Ryla Interact Club Camp next Friday I think. Going to have lots of fun!
